ACUTE RESCUE : A 13 year old girl, presents with pain abdomen, towards right of umbilicus, covers the area with her right palm and says- see here. Has been having this for the past 15 days, but is now worse for the past 3 days, my sister is a nurse, so she gives me some medicine, but I don't know what. The pain remains all day and night, does not reach a high intensity, but yes I cannot sleep for initially 2 hrs or so,at night, she said; no vomit, but at times I try to vomit out by pharyngeal stimulation with my fingers, but to no avail; stools are not loose, said well formed but dark coloured. I was thirsty earlier but now I don't like to take much water and appetite too has reduced. The pain is dull aching, not tender to palpation, I can't really say how it decreases or increases, it is there for like that for most part of the day and she has an expression of unease and pain too. With which remedy now, can we rescue this young girl of her pain and discomfort? Aparna Singh ILH 15 Nov 2011
