HISTORY: please meet Dr. Susan McKinney Steward (1847-1918) who was the first African-American female doctor that specialized in Homeopathy in the state of New York. Although she was confronted with two obstacles in her era, being a women and African-American, this great lady overcame both successfully. Dr. Steward co-founded the Brooklyn Women├óÔé¼Ôäós Homeopathic Hospital. She was advocating Homeopathy and was active in the Kings County Homeopathic Medical Society.
