🍃Because bitterness sometime represents toxicity this might be the reason why bitter foods reduce appetite
🍃Eating a starter made with bitter foods is therefore a good way to start a meal
🌱Bitter foods stimulate the liver to produce bile which is essential for the digestion of fats and the absorption of fat soluble vitamins such as A, E, D and K.
🍃My favourite are radicchio, endive, rocket and kale but there are plenty more such as dandelion greens, bitter melon, Jerusalem artichokes, ginger and even dark chocolate ( 80% cacao) and coffee are considered bitter foods.
🍃Adding a little bitterness to your meal not only increases its health benefits but also add an interesting new spectrum of tastes which we have forgotten in the current sweet-saturated culture.
