Lycopene is a carotenoid which colors fruits and vegetables and is most abundantly present in the prostate gland.
Studies have shown lycopene reduces risk of various deadly cancers including cancers of colon, rectum and prostate.
Best food sources are cooked tomatoes or tomato paste, ketchup. Pink guava, watermelon, gac fruit are other fair sources. As with all carotenoids, a little oil is necessary for lycopene absorption.
